Corporate
America, and their billion
dollar companies, spends
hundreds of millions on
marketing videos, training
films and industrials. They
also want "in house"
commercials, podcasts, PSAs,
and e-learning on the web
with voice talent.
It's important for
corporations to express
their concepts and ideas
through video and film
scenarios, so that clients
and employees alike can
learn about Leadership,
Customer Service, Selling
Skills and more, depending
on the type of company and
its particular needs.
All of these projects can
only be successful when you
have talented actors - lots
of them. Many actors make a
very good living doing these
kinds of educational
productions.
Truth be told, Ed Couppee
was able to get his SAG and
AFTRA cards very early on in
his career because of his
work in Industrial training
films. Now that he produces
and directs these films, and
all the other categories
mentioned above, he uses
talent from all over the
country. Ed shoots in Los
Angeles, New York, San
Francisco, Tampa, Vancouver,
London --- and soon to be
shooting in Nashville.
Ed Couppee is the "go to"
guy for corporate
educational training because
he brings a skill set that
is unmatched in the
industry. He understands
that the only way his films
can fly is if the actors
pull the audience into the
humanness of the situation,
then the training part takes
care of itself.
That's how Ed gets the work
and wins the awards, he
knows that the acting in
these productions is
pivotal; he has set a new
standard for the way
industrial educational films
are done. By putting a
premium on the acting, he is
able to transcend the
material so we identify with
the characters and their
behavior, creating the look
and feel of a feature film.
Clients include Levi
Strauss, Hewlett Packard,
Panasonic and Times Mirror;
he has also served as a
performance consultant on
features for Universal
Studios and Paramount
Pictures.
Ed was
an actor for 20 years and at
the same time had a coaching
business: privately coaching
singers and actors for their
roles in features and on TV.
He is an "Actor's Director",
it doesn't matter if it's on
camera talent, singers, or
some of the most well known
VO talent in the industry-
the performers trust him.
Ed's transition to
Producer/Director was a
natural as he has helmed
many theatre productions,
documentaries, and music
videos as well as the 100s
of corporate films with
1000s of scenarios. Every
night you watch episodic
shows on TV you'll usually
see people Ed has coached
and/or used in his training
films. It's a good bridge
for actors to get to where
they want to go, and at the
same time an opportunity to
practice their acting with a
director who has worked with
over 3000 actors of
different disciplines and
backgrounds.
Ed will be bringing in
scripts from actual projects
he has directed. He is
looking forward to seeing
the acting talent in
Nashville; companies are
always looking to do new
projects in locations with a
different look, feel and
energy.
